I’m half ways through reading Steve Jobs’ biography written by Walter Isaacson and I was steel not completely done figuring out the way Steve Jobs’ mind worked. Watching this video helped me understand much better how it worked and I’m sure it will help a lot of people have more confidence be a little more like Steve.
What he said makes perfect sense, we live in a world where we follow the rules and we sometimes don’t even bother to ask ourselves why we need to follow the rules. We are born in this world and we automatically get these set of rules casted in our minds and we just go with the flow. Steve was one of the few who dared to challenge those boundaries and was able to make changes that would change the way we do things. All it took was Steve believing he could do it and it happened. Perhaps we should all be a little more like Steve and change the world a little every day.
I’ve been a little tied up with other matters, but I haven’t forgotten about my blog. I’ve been wanting to say share my thoughts on IOS5. At home we’ve all been carrying the blues due to Steve Jobs’ passing. My wife and kids are very fond of Apple products and the advances in technology that they have been able to make in the last few years (at the same time I’m trying to be loyal to Microsoft) and they know that Steve was behind the research and development of these products/technologies one way or another.
Steve last keynote was to announce the iCloud and IOS 5. I’m sure a lot of us remember that. I’m very excited that iCloud is… just Awesome! As mentioned in many blogs recently it is the future of computing; cloud computing. I’m very inclined to agree with them, because I also do think that cloud computing is the future. The platform formed by IOS5 and iCloud is setting the pace for cloud computing, it is simply the very basic that we need to get computer user to embark in cloud computing without even knowing it. iCloud will keep your email, calendars, and Mac documents on the web to be able to be accessed from any IOS device or Mac computers and even PC computers (computers running Windows Vista or higher). Thanks to IOS5 now you can keep your data current anywhere you are.
Yesterday I was one of the first to install IOS5 and use the iCloud and so far I have noting, but positive comments to report. As usual the first couple days after a launch there is a frenzy of people downloading the newly released products and this overloads Apple’s services and you get a hit and miss when trying to login, but that’s all to be expected.
I’m very exciting to be running IOS5 and using iCloud, it might, in someway make me more productive at work.

As mentioned on a couple of very famous blogs, this new design of the latest version of Windows is the most revolutionary on since windows 95. After the release of Windows XP, us Windows users thought that we were somewhat pleased with the stability brought by XP. However we were still waiting for the wild factor, something that would shoot Windows into the future. Windows Vista came a long and it was a big FAIL, the graphics were cool and it introduced nice new features, but the stability was horrible and soon after Windows 7 came along; finally a version of Windows that personally has me very content. What’s next? A question that never fails to make it’s appearance, because us geeks think that the grass is greener on the other side, the other side being the future in this case.
Windows 8, that’s what’s next. As demonstrated on the video below we can notice a look and feel very similar to the Windows Phone 7 interface. It is nice to see that Microsoft was able to incorporate a similar touch functionality as the WP7 to the upcoming desktop version of the OS without losing any of the classic functionality features that we are used to from a Widows machine. As an iPad owner I feel that the iPad is a great tool for reading news, browsing the web, answer emails, playing games, and other light computing uses. The iPad is not fully functional computer, though. A device running a version of Windows 8 could be both. It looks like Windows 8 will run perfectly on a touch enabled tablet and with the use of a mouse and keyboard that same device will transform into a complete PC. I do wonder if Windows 8 will focus on “instant-on” features or if Microsoft will be implementing an AppStore-like feature as the one on the Mac OS.
I’ve been waiting for a solution for my Media Center Setup and I think I finally found it. I’ve been without a Media Center for almost a year now, because my cable provider Comcast decided to go all digital. Well it looks like I will be able to fire up my Windows Media Center machine again that’s all thanks to Silicon Dust. This is a network based triple TV tuner. I can’t wait for this device to hit the market.
For all those hard core Michael Jackson fans, here is the game that will make you move to his songs. I’m not a hard core fan, but I think many will agree that his game could be fun. This game will be released for the Nintendo Wii on 11/23/10.
This game looks pretty good. They awesome cars and they are implementing a life style gameplay when your avatar is not behind the wheel, everything look good but.. What about online play?
I’ve seen lots small/micro factor computers come into the market and not really be successful. Most of the time that due to the limitation on their size and power, but I think there they really have something here that might break that pattern. We will be following up on this story to see how they do in the future. If you want to find more about these small computer please visit the official website.
It’s being rumored that the new iOS 4.2 is coming as early as Friday, 11/12/10. I believe that the device that will benefit from this update will be the iPad, because this will add multitasking on the iPads. Game Center will also be available on the iPad with this iPad. The most valuable feature on this update, in my opinion is the capability to print off any IOS device using AirPrint. You can learn more from the Apple’s website.
I found this video at the Gizmodo website and I thought it was pretty funny. I bet I can find many more on YouTube.
Ever since the Wii came out,Microsoft and Sony have been trying to catch up. Sony and Microsoft have implemented motion detection technology similar to the Wii in their gaming systems. Now it’s a race between the PS3 move, Xbox 360 Kinect, and the Nintendo Wii.
If I had to choose between these game consoles I would chose the PS3 Move bundle. I feel that the move is better because it comes in a bundle and you don’t have to go many places to get what you want if you got a Wii or a Kinect for the Xbox 360. You would have to go many places because you would have to get more controller, games, and you have to get a motion detector for them. It is just a hassle to get all that. Finally you have to set everything up then and for me that’s to much. Which console you think is the best?
